Baringer & Associates is a full-service event planning and public relations company, specializing in corporate functions throughout New York State. We will work closely with you to stage an event that maximizes the achievement of your goals. Creating extraordinary events is our signature. We have planned exceptional events for clients who have entertained customers, sales representatives, and employees from across the United States as well as Japan, Korea, Sweden, Canada and Belgium. Event Sponsorships, Advertising, and Media Buys

Event sponsorship offers a company exposure to a qualified consumer, while reinforcing the corporate message and brand. Baringer & Associates develops event sponsorships which complement your event and meet the marketing and branding goals of the sponsor. We have secured event sponsorships from national accounts as well as local companies. We coordinate with media outlets to maximize an event media budget, always seeking to negotiate the best price and placement for advertising. We will work with you to tailor your event to your budget, your purpose, and your personality. Baringer & Associates will make your event planning hassle-free by providing you with competent professionals who know how to plan events of any size – from careful menu selection and reservation management to the use of the most effective room set-up that will get results.

But what about managing the details on the day of the event?

We understand that planning is just not enough. Most clients who come to us have been the victims of Murphy’s Law too often in the past. When Baringer & Associates works with you, we take on our responsibility from start to finish. We not only plan professional events; we also manage them so that your time is spent enjoying your own event and interacting with your clients, customers or employees.

What types of clients do you plan for?

Our services are tailored to corporate and business customers and community organizations, regardless of size. They are comprehensive in nature and can include complete organization of meetings, seminars, conferences, trade shows, dinner parties, grand openings, business retreats, and special events. Specific tasks can include invitation and RSVP management service, theme development, room arrangements, audio-visual and other equipment acquisition, menu selection, entertainment, advertising and publicity. Maureen Ryan Baringer

President, Baringer & Associates, LLC and Upstate NY Events

Maureen Ryan Baringer has over twenty five years experience planning and promoting special events, and a stellar reputation for her management, promotional, and organizational skills. She originates from Upstate New York, having grown up in the Adirondack Region of New York State. Maureen attended the State University College at Cortland where she received a bachelors degree in Recreation Management. She worked for a city recreation department planning events for several years. In her previous role as Executive Director of her local Chamber of Commerce, she worked to promote many corporations and businesses. Maureen, combined the knowledge and experience gained from those positions, and opened Baringer & Associates, LLC in 1995, fulfilling her vision to manage her own corporate events planning company. She has planned corporate events, conferences, and trade shows throughout New York State for the past sixteen years, coordinating with clients from across the United States and several international locations. She is a respected authority on the events planning industry and has spoken to many groups on topics related to the field. Baringer has also consulted with businesses and organizations throughout New York State who seek her expertise on how to better plan and promote their special events. Maureen also believes in mentoring the next generation. She teaches an Events Planning course at Ithaca College where she plans a major special event with her students each semester. She has served as a member of the Homer Central School District Board of Education and the SUNY Cortland College Council.

 

 

Kim Schellinger

Event Planner

Kim Schellinger, originally from Syracuse, has located back to the region after extensive experience in the events industry in Washington, D.C. and Atlanta, Georgia. She managed major trade shows for the
American Association of School Administrators, SUPERCOMM and PRIMEDIA Intertec. Schellinger is a
graduate of SUNY Geneseo with a degree in Management and Marketing.

Schellinger will be responsible for all aspects of event management and promotions at Baringer & Associates, LLC including The CNY Blooms Syracuse Flower & Garden Show, United States Bowling Congress Women’s Championships Tournament , and many corporate events.

 

 

 

Amy Lalla Gutchess

Associate

Amy Lalla Gutchess is an extremely artistic person who has a flair for creating simple elegance at her events. She holds a degree in Advertising and Design from Cazenovia College. She was employed for many years as a Graphic Artist at Marietta Corporation. Her event planning experience includes, designing invitations and media packages, to planning an entire wedding from start to finish. Amy has developed the concepts and art work for many themed events with Baringer & Associates, LLC. She also created and designed the new logo and web page for their new Upstate NY Events division. Amy is an award winning artist who is known throughout New York State for her design work.

 

 

 

Robin Pinto

Associate
Albany, NY

Robin Pinto has been an event planner in the Capital District of New York State for 15 years, most recently as Director of Special Event Sales and Marketing for the numerous properties of Mallozzi’s in Schenectady, NY. During her career she has been an education coordinator and meeting planner for a large trade association, run a 600 seat restaurant and large event venue and has coordinated over one thousand weddings and special events. She received an Award of Excellence from National Multiple Sclerosis Society in 2005 for her work in her field. She consults for several event management companies and writes for numerous industry magazines. She has coached and developed some of the areas most skilled event planners and believes in teaching relationship building as the predominant trait for success. She is the Chair for the Director of Sales Committee for the Chamber of Schenectady County. Robin was born and raised in beautiful Santa Barbara, California and she brings the calmness of that lifestyle to her event management. She is a mentor in the industry and highly regarded as one of the Capital Districts brightest event professionals.

The Ithaca College School of Business asked Maureen Baringer to attend their first Women In Business Luncheon held on April 24. Baringer was asked to mentor students at the luncheon and to speak on the one piece of advice she would recommend to women entering the business world.

Baringer advised those in attendance, that the best accessory they could ever wear is confidence. She advised that we spend too much time worrying about the right earrings, the right shoes and other cosmetic issues when it is confidence (not arrogance) that will draw people to us and provide success in the business world. She advised the students to engage people by sincerely focusing on them with eye contact, developing a connection, and following through on conversation topics.

Baringer & Associates has joined Meeting Planners International (MPI). MPI is the meeting and events industry’s largest and most global community with 23,000 members worldwide. Baringer & Associates, LLC is a member of the MPI Northeastern New York Chapter based out of Albany.
Baringer & Associates, LLC Opens Upstate NY Events Division
Maureen Baringer, president of Baringer & Associates LLC recently announced a new division of her company. “Upstate New York Events” opened as a division of Baringer & Associates, LLC. The division will provide networking, educational, and promotional opportunities for businesses, professionals, and college programs related to the events industry throughout Upstate New York.

Upstate New York Events will maintain chapters and host networking events in five regions of Upstate New York. The regions are Northern New York (Lake Placid), Eastern New York (Albany), Central New York (Syracuse), Western New York (Rochester), and the Southern/Finger Lakes Region (Ithaca). A major conference and trade show will be held in Central New York each year. One day educational seminars related to the events industry will also be held in each region.

Upstate New York Events will host an online networking site to connect and promote businesses, college programs, and not-for-profit groups all related to the events industry in Upstate New York. The Web site will go live in January at www.upstatenyevents.com and will have superior search engine listings for maximum visibility. Members will have an opportunity to promote their products and services and a link to their Web sites from the upstatenyevents.com Web site. There will be an opportunity for advertising on the site and a calendar of member events. An online blog will be created for members to share their event experiences. Online newsletters focused on the upstate events industry will be published each month. The Web site will serve as an international resource for all businesses and products related to the events industry in Upstate New York. An active referral service to promote members to businesses and groups who are hosting events in the Upstate New York region will be managed through the Web site.

There has been frustration in the events industry regarding networking and promotional opportunities,” Baringer said. “Many of the professional networking groups related to the events industry are affiliated with downstate metropolitan areas. Upstate businesses found that they were paying dues to international groups whose meetings and resources were all downstate. The events industry is growing rapidly upstate and we have many unique businesses and resources to promote. Our goal is to provide convenient locations for everyone involved in this industry upstate to connect, learn, and ultimately increase their business and professional opportunities. Our networking opportunities will be innovative, informative, and inviting!”

Upstate New York Events will also work closely with college recreation leadership and hospitality programs. Organization of student chapters in each region will be promoted. Scholarships will also be provided to students who are studying in the field. Students will receive reduced rates for all programs run through Upstate New York Events. The Web site will maintain a current listing of internship and job opportunities in the field.
